Ellie

A few weeks ago, Ellie, her mom (Tammy), grandmother and I tried to brave the FREEZING winds to do a photo shoot. In the end, we all decided it would be best to try again on a warmer day. After all, this is Alabama, and those mild days appear among our winters.

And Saturday was that day! Ellie is such a sport for the camera...and sometimes even quite the ham. Several times she showed us her fantastic winks and big smile! She was such a pleasure to work with and even a down right riot. Thank you Tammy and Ellie for such a fun day...and Ellie is quite the lucky girl with such a cool tricycle!

I used the fish eye lens during most of the shoot because kids always add such a fun element to it.

l o v e

I had the wonderful pleasure to photograph my long time friend Stephanie and her husband, Sean. She is pregnant, so technically, this is also my first maternity shoot! Sad news (but happy for them!) is they are moving to Portland in a week and a half. Stephanie is a fellow photographer and she is just as good on this side of the camera, too! Thank you to Stephanie and Sean...you two are so in love that it made my job super easy. I'm going to miss you guys, but I can't wait to hear about all the new adventures you'll have...especially when Lentil is here!

Fall Wedding

I had the pleasure of working with my great friend, Stephanie, at a gorgeous wedding set high atop Monte Sano Mountain. While the outside was chilly and foggy, the inside was warm with love and happiness. It had been raining all day long, right up until it was time to snap some photos outside. With the trees boasting their fall colors, it made for the perfect backdrop...way to go Mother Nature!

Congrats to Frances and Josh! I hope they have a lifetime of happiness!

Love is in the Air

I have had the pleasure recently to capture several Big Days. Now that I've had a taste of wedding photography I want nothing but more! My talented husband is helping me put my html ideas into place, so hopefully soon I'll have a website to share. Right now, I can direct you to my flickr page with a collection of images from each wedding.

So if you are a bride-to-be and you like what you see, contact me (look at that rhyme!) and I'd love to discuss the details of your wedding and find out how I can fit into your budget. You can email verticalhouse [at] gmail [dot] com or call directly: 256-797-6624.

I want to give a special thanks to the brides that have allowed me to capture their special day. And to the families that made me feel so warm and welcome!
